President Letter

Hello Co-op Families!
It’s been a beautiful fall season so far! We have had a great start to the school year with great weather, fun field trips and school activities like Dads’ Day and Early Literacy Night. And there is more to come!
We are fast approaching the holiday season starting with Thanksgiving just around the corner. There are many upcoming activities that we can look forward to such as caroling at the Senior Center, the Holiday Party, and Hometown Holidays weekend December 4-6 (Friday – Sunday). The Co-op sponsors the Visit with Santa & Santa’s Workshop each year on Friday night during the Hometown Holidays at the Chelsea Historic Depot from 6:30 – 8:30pm. There are craft tables for the children to keep busy while they are waiting to visit with Santa.
During this time of year, when we are giving thanks for all that we have and the loved ones we get to share our love with, it is also a good time to think about those who do not have as much to be thankful for in their lives. This is why the Co-‐op participates in the Faith in Action Food Drive. Each class will be responsible for bringing specific items for the Drive. Young 5s: Juice, AM4s: Cereal, AM3s: Macaroni and Cheese, and PM3/4s: Healthy Snacks. We will begin gathering items for the drive after Thanksgiving.
Thank you all for your efforts in participating and helping out in the classroom when needed. Remember each one of you is part owner of the Co-op and your input and ideas are always welcome. Feel free to contact me or any member of the board with any questions, concerns, or ideas.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Brenda Fineman
President 2015-2016
